About me:
Fabio Franchino is full professor of political science at Università degli Studi di Milano, and an expert in EU government. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Brighton, a master's from Universita Commerciale Luigi Bocconi in Milan, and a PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science, with a thesis on the executive politics of the European Union, published as The Powers of the Union by Cambridge University Press in 2007. At the LSE he started his academic career as a teaching assistant in 1997, becoming tutorial fellow, and lecturer, before he left in 2001. From 2002 to 2007 he worked at University College London, where he helped set up the newly created School of Public Policy, and moved up the academic ladder from lecturer to reader. In 2007 he moved back to his home country after being appointed associate professor by Università degli Studi di Milano. He is currently focused on research, and serves as co-editor of the peer-reviewed Italian Political Science Review (Cambridge University Press) and associate editor of European Union Politics (SAGE), as well as one of the presidents of the European Political Science Association (elected for 2016-2018), and treasurer of ECPR's Standing Group on the European Union.
